Works by multidisciplinary artist Vera Frenkel have been shown at documenta IX; MoMA; the Setagaya Museum, Tokyo; the Goeteborg Konstmuseum; the Venice Biennale (Club Media, 1997; Head Start, 2001); and the Freud Museum London, among other venues. Frenkel’s newest work, ONCE NEAR WATER: Notes from the scaffolding archive, an Images Festival/Continuum commission was premièred at the Muziekgebouw, Amsterdam (November, 2008) and at the Isabel Bader Theatre, Toronto (April, 2009). Body Missing, her much-discussed project on art theft as cultural policy was installed most recently in Recollecting: Raub und Restitution, at the Museum für Angewandte Kunst (MAK) Vienna (2008-09). Frenkel is currently artist-in-residence in the Master of Visual Studies programme, University of Toronto.
