Yvonne Singer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual Arts, and the Graduate Program Director in visual arts. She is a member of Loop Gallery. Singer is a practicing artist with an active national and international exhibition record. Her installation works employ multi-media techniques to articulate cultural and psychological issues of disjuncture and perception. Singer is particularly interested in the intersection of public and private histories. Recent exhibitions include Signs of life; an intimate portrait of someone I don’t know at Loop Gallery, The Trouble with Translation, touring Germany, France and Canada, Alphabets, The Veiled Room, ACC Gallery, Weimar, Germany, and Images of Girlhood, McCord Museum, Montreal.
